Writes Edd Conway, Director of Rugby
It was fantastic to see the return of the historic ‘Â鶹´«Ã½â€™ Derby’ on Wednesday 10th December as our Â鶹´«Ã½’ Northwood boys travelled up to Â鶹´«Ã½’ Crosby.
The long journey time meant we left on Tuesday afternoon and stayed overnight at a local Premier Inn, before heading over to Crosby for the fixture. It was well attended by pupils, staff and parents and there was certainly a sense of importance to the occasion, as both schools fought hard to get the victory.
Twice, Taylors’ Crosby took the lead – and twice we came back – with the game eventually finishing 14-14. Our Taylors’ Northwood boys played very well and arguably just shaded the game, but couldn’t quite get the final pass away for the points we deserved.
It was a physical and hard fought encounter, and the boys enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with their Crosby counterparts. Well done to all who played and thanks to our support crew!
