Assemblies form an important part of life at Â鶹´«Ã½’. They take many forms: Chaplain’s assemblies, House assemblies, Year assemblies and Sixth Form assemblies, with the Head Master also regularly addressing the whole school gathered in the Great Hall.
Each assembly offers a pause in the school day for reflection. Sometimes the theme arises from current events in the news; at other times, from a moral or intellectual question. In every case, boys are encouraged to follow a complex argument and engage with challenging ideas. In this way, our assemblies are consciously countercultural, standing apart from a world too often dominated by soundbites, received wisdom and shallow debate.
